How to do the hair flip?
Hello. I’ve been trying to achieve the hair flip, but regardless of what I do , my hair barely moves. Maybe my hair is too long/thick? It’s about 3 inches past my chest. I tried rolling my head quickly. I also tried a halfway roll to left then quick full roll to right. That didn’t work either. Any suggestions? I’d really like to flaunt my hair! Thanks!

Try generating the movement more for your torso than just your neck; you can get more momentum to get your hair moving. I don’t know a better way to describe it (plus I’m just not an expert in any way) so hopefully someone else will come by with some advice.

I agree with Rubi, let the movement come from the momentum of what you’re doing. Also, it helps to duck your chin and then roll/whip your head sideways (as controlled as possible to avoid whiplash). See if that works for you. Poleophile, I agree with you…I also have curly, thick hair, and it’s hard to flip right now because I haven’t cut it in ages! No money, and trying to grow it longer. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif It’s almost to the small of my back, now!
I actually flip my hair best when it’s wet, because the weight gives me more of an idea what I’m doing. When I’m washing my hair, I comb it out with my fingers, and I flip it from one side to the other in order to get it all. Maybe try practice in the shower?
Also, yes, it’s quite a bit of momentum to get the hair going! I still haven’t really gotten the proper flip down (the other girls make it look so easy!), and I’d love to flirt with my hair, too! I assume we are talking like whipping it in a circle and not back. I couldn’t do it for the longest time and I found that by doing a fast head roll starting slightly behind my shoulder and and ending just behind the other shoulder (with a slight chin lift to get it out of my face) helped. For me it, also, helped thinking more about the head and just generating momentum than moving the hair (kinda like booty shakes, if I think about the butt it ain’t gonna happen but if I focus more on the legs or the overall picture it works).

Be spun hairflip is to tuck your chin to the chest, and then whirl it around and back (and snap your neck in the process)

My best advice: Take some tips from the heavy metal fans!
Especially the guys coz they they have all kinds of hair – and not thick luscious hair like ladies either. They make limp hair, frizzy hair, really bad dry hair – whatever hair go round and round like crazy!
How? By using the momemtum of their whole bodies.

Not having long hair I think really limits you on some of the "looks" you can achieve when pole dancing. I can barely flip my hair straight back but I don’t care for long hair on myself so this move is never going to happen for me.
I love it though and wish I could do it. -

my hair is very tight curly and shorted than shoulder length and won’t grow https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif. I’ve got a couple of clip in poly-tails though and a couple of long wigs, I love wearin them and love to flip em all about!!! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif It gives me a whole new persona as well when I put on a wig, gotta make sure its clipped in well though!!!

I will be not-so-secretly envious of all of you with enough hair to flip. And believe you me, if I had hair I would absolutely be wanting to flip it all over the place!! I agree with the comments about it being as much torso/shoulders as it is head.
