You are very welcome! xoxo

Here’s a good example of cross training with the hoop! These tricks would strengthen the hands, wrists, forearms, and even shoulders!

Pain like this is commonly an intercostal, rhomboid, or muscles of the scapula.
Prevent it by warming up of course but most of all invert with control! A swing of the leg is fine as long as the upper body is placed correctly along the pole. This is how you hold the scapula correctly and perform a proper invert without jerking your upper body. Placement, using a Side Pole Hold, is so important when inverting, use the arm pit and save your back! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ3V_2DsxgE

The SV pole has a special process done to it that gives it a “softer” feel, than regular powder coating. It’s still grippy with out the harshness of some PC poles. That’s the best way I can describe it. 🙂

Hula hooping is actually good training too! When I hoop off the body, on legs, arms, wrists it strengthens those areas. It’s been great for my shoulders and wrists. When I hoop on my body is great cardio!

I made a video with some tips that work for me. I suggest starting with a clean pole, I use stream to clean my poles. https://stage.studioveena.com/videos/view/52ab9aba-a310-41ab-83d6-636d0a9aa0eb

I know mighty grip sells crash mats that fit around your pole. I bought 2 of these off Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Harbinger-340400-Part-Exercise-Black/dp/B00074H89A/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386992919&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=tri+fold+crash+mat
