Even for those in shape pole can be very stressful on the body and its so easy to get carried away with learning. It's just so fun!!! I always suggest pole dancing every other day when starting, this can help prevent overuse injury.

If you are interested I have many exercises in the lessons here that will strengthen and condition every part of your body for pole. Also the lessons here are placed in an order that enables you to build strength first, allowing for safer and faster progress. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Avoid working on inverts until you're feeling better and have done some conditioning for the back and shoulders.

I have had my TG pole for a few years now and the finish is still great….but I did notices that the finish changes in a few spots from gold to silver when I friend of mine danced on my pole and used grip aid. I have the older style top loading pole so this may not even be an issue anymore. I LOVE my TG its my fav finsih! I do not use grip aids.

The titanium gold is my favorite finish of them all. I have had mine for a few years now and its my most heavily used pole, the finish has not worn off. BUT, I think the finish wearing off is a body/skin chemistry and possibly grip aid use issue. I had someone over and they used my pole, the finish where they did most of their pole work was lighter after they used it. They used itac. I have also tested out itac and found it seemed to change the color of the pole. I do not normally use any grip aids, so other than those 2 situations my pole is fine and still super grippy!

Others have posted about this same issue so I would say it can happen. Rest and ice I would think is your best bet as mentioned before. Give that shoulder some time to calm down before sm again. Feel better soon!

Hi welcome to the site! To have the best grip, make sure you are nice and warmed up, also if you dance in a cold room make sure the pole has been warmed too. Also be sure to squeeze using the muscles too and not just the skin 😉

I have the xpole brass, I can only use it when the weather and body is really hot. Titanium gold is the best all sound pole for me too. Keep in mind xpole stated here that they have a new formula for the brass poles now. Lyme, PS brass is different than cooked old brass, not sure about the new brass.

Do you have an iron though?? You don't need a clothes/fabric steamer and you really don't need a steam cleaner! others have used just an iron on steam. X pole had told me they were in the process of making a video explaining how to clean the brass pole. I don't think its up yet though.

HI welcome to the site!! Try working out every other day to give your body a chance to rest. I call these "rejuvenation" days! If you happen to be taking the lessons start off by watching each of the "Getting Started" lessons for each section. They have great tips and info on structuring your pole workouts. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Yep, I have nice long routines for each level. I tell you what you'll need to know before trying the routine and I break them down into sections, to make learning easier. There is slow motion and step by step instruction. These routines are longer than ones I have seen on DVDs. Here is the beginner routine, I posted a while back….for FREEhttps://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif….https://stage.studioveena.com/videos/view/0fb1598c-b90a-11df-856f-001b214581be

If you're feeling strain on the knee then you should stop, and check your body alignment. Something as simple as changing your body placement could fix the pain. This is an advanced pose, so you need to have other things under your belt before moving on to this. To get the most out of the stretch you posted you'll want the hips squared, so both are facing forward. If you are taking the lessons try working on these before moving on to the advanced pose. Shoulder moblity and back moblity is needed as well.

Here are some lessons that will help you achive this pose…..

    Thigh stretch https://stage.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4dfb5178-ba64-438e-8bf4-5f360ac37250

Soooo many pieces of equipment for exercise and stretching…hey, even for baby, are not necessary, or worth the money. They give promise of, better flexibility, more strength, a happier baby and really, consistency could be the best "tool" you could ever use! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

If you cannot place the pole where the rib is not in contact, don’t do it. Please remember not all moves are right for all people. Listen to your body, stay within your bodies limits and live to pole another day!
