Next time you try, feel free to upload a video here if you like as well. Then we can all offer some suggestions. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

The switch and the torso twist in the conditioning section are great for this! Also you may need the kick due to lack of hamstring flexiblity.

I wont teach the twisted grip variations on these moves, (at least not from a handspring) so all of the info that I'll give you is not for the TG. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
If you take a look at the lessons you can see the progression for this move. https://stage.studioveena.com/lessons (I have the lessons in order) Caterpillar, Elbow or forearm straight edge V "Aysha", then elbow or forearm straight edge, then the split grip straight edge V "Ayesha" last is the split grip straight edge. This is the suggested progression that works for most people but everyone is different.
I would try working on elbowstands and handstands agaist a wall and focus on really engaging the core. Don't let your back arch. Also, if you haven't been already, start working on your caterpillar to straight edge v, before moving on to any of the other straight edge variations. I have tons of tips for these moves if your taking the lessons. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

This is a tricky one, there are a lot of things it could be. Can you do the V leg variation of the straight edge, with any of the grips? Like this? https://stage.studioveena.com/galleries/view/4f88eb00-6f9c-4764-a7be-294b0ac37250

Aww don't feel bad, the first day back is usually rough! Also, I still start with a some strength and conditioning before I jump into advanced stuff, when I've been off the pole, for some time. You'll get it back! If grip is still an issue with the humidity try working on floorwork, or just dancing and improving movement around the pole.
Lyme there are a lot of things I can't do right now, but I know they will come back.
It's nice to vent though https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

All you need to do is get some water in a spray bottle, spray the area that is smashed down and fluff it up with a comb https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif It may take a few times to fluff it back up, but it's always worked well for me.

I say, yes! I think if its a hair style you love then you'll make it sexy! I personally think dreads on a pole dancer would be hot. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif Your friends hair looks sweet btw

If your a seasoned dancer (sounds like you are) and you're looking for better grip go with TG or Brass. Chrome is best for new dancers and those who love to do static spins.
BRASS: Do you sweat a lot when you dance or live in a warm climate, is your poel space warm? If yes, then go with the Brass finish. When I lived in the Midwest I couldn't grip the brass, here in Vegas it's been wonderful!!! Sweaty hands work better with the brass, then TG or chrome.
TITANIUM: Do you have troubles staying warm, or live in a cool/cold climate, is your pole space cool? Then go with Titanium, This finish has worked well for me in ALL climates!
I love my 40mm but I still love my 45mm poles too! I'm 5'8" ….The 40 is wonderful for creating new lines and extensions, but I prefer split grip work on the 45. There are benefits to all of the different diameter poles. I've tried 38's too and they don't feel much different than the 40. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

If your looking for a removable pole, you might wanna try the xpole. We do sell them here on the site if your interested.
I would get a stud finder, makes it easy to find the joist, but if you have plaster ceiling it wont work.
Think about checking out the online lessons here. They are a great way improve your skill when you are not in the studio. I also include stretching and conditioning lessons that can help you progress faster. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
