Polefairy, I have never used a 40mm, but I have used a smaller 38 and liked it. There's some adjustment when performing some leg grips (not all) things like the adv Ballerina are much easier on a smaller pole! I really never use my 50mm poles anymore. I plan on getting the 40mm at some point. I think you would like it.

Hi Riddle, to answer the question you asked…… I would contact Xpole they should be able to give you more info on the availability of the new 40mm. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Oh something to try if your body and climate is cold and dry… A humidifier. I used my fabric steamer the other day on my pole ( to clean it ) and then left it running in the pole room and used it a bit on my body ( holding it far away so I didn’t get a steam burn ) but it worked so well. Lol

Yummy homemade fudge!!! Happy holidays to you!!

Yeah, I think there is something about doing things in front of other, gets our adrenalin going! Also at home we tend to jump on the pole without warming up the pole or our bodies and that doesn’t help! I can always lift heavier weights at the gym than at home.

AdministratorDecember 23, 2011 at 8:55 pm in reply to: Upright Split Grip preparation/conditioningWhat moves are you looking to use the split grip for? If its for spins… regardless of the bottom hand placement, you want most of the weight on the top arm. Like PFM said engage the scapula. The bottom hand is just there to keep you moving away from the pole really, not to hold you up.
If your looking to do static holds check out this lesson https://stage.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4d2f086d-9d38-4e2f-8f09-0b800ac37250 and start with the partial split grip first, this will allow you to use the biceps too, putting less stress on the shoulder and wrist.
Conditioning for all split grips would include: shoulders, wrists, and hands. There are lessons that focus on all of these areas in the conditioning section. The descriptions list the muscle groups used and all muscle groups are listed together. 🙂 climbs (all variations) are one of the best strength builders so work on theses as well.

You couldn't perform every spin this way but there would be some nice options for you. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Hopefully someone will have experience with this and weigh in…..
I can tell you, I would be far more impressed with a future employee dressing well than if someone shows up in pole gear, or jeans. When I was interviewing for personal training jobs I always dressed up. I would bring some pole clothes with you and leave them in the car, so if you need them your covered. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
