Stay away from static spins! I suggest talking to your physiotherapist about pole and maybe showing them some clips of what pole dancers do so they understand what is involved. Then ask them what kinds of exercises they could give you to condition your shoulder. Starting up with Strength training for the pole will be very important. Learning to properly hold the scapula when climbing, inverting and spinning will be very important so your not hanging off the arm. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Yes, fear is a totally normal road block for most moves. Make sure your using pillows or a mat and a spotter, also don't invert too high up stay really low, try sliding down a bit before moving into Inverted Crucifix. Pull pull pull into the pole with the back leg that is resting along the pole.https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Are you super warm before trying this? Anything with the legs is such a pain if your not warm or if your pole is cold. Check your POCs too and make sure your using the right areas of the legs, Sometimes we get confused when upside down and forget what goes where. From an invert, it sounds like you just need to be patient with yourself and continue working on a stronger invert. If you can't hold the invert or bring the knees up over the hands, getting into a Crucifix will be challenging! You can still do your crucifix from the floor while your building up your invert. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Like sparrow mentioned I would go with X pole, Platinum Stages or Lil mynx. Good luck with your poling!! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Hello and welcome!! I would look into your ceiling situation it sounds like at this point working on your own may be helpful for you. If the ceiling has tiles on it usually you can remove one or two and put up your pole on the supports underneath. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
