Thanks for the great suggestions keep them coming!
This thread is a year old…. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Since making this post….I have added several routines and added, transitions, new floorwork, more pole strength, more pole moves, and I'm in the process of adding the stretching and conditioning lessons I spoke about. I believe we have about 230 lessons at this point https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Our bodies are different, and so there is nothing wrong with slight differences like that leg positioning……For most I think it would be a matter of strength….. so, too bring the pole closer into the hip you'll have to use the abs to lift/tuck the legs up higher towards the torso, Changing the position of the top arm will help with that. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gifIf you have the lessons go take a look at it again or maybe revisit the half Cradle.

Is there a reason why you feel its wrong if the thigh is touching instead of the hip? I saw the vid and it looks fine to me. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gifMy only suggestion would be that you might want to try bending the top arm more so its not locked. (it looked locked or fully extended not sure if it was) This can be very stressful on the joints during the cradle. Using the bicep also allows for more control, I feel.

Its good for a beginner because its closer to the ground. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif Floorwork I would do on the floor, you'll have more space that way.
I think you would be fine doing strength moves, they are closer to the pole and will create less movement then most pole moves and spins.
I believe both stages are the same size but I'm not sure….I'm about 5'8" as well, and I have no problem with the size. Both stages have legs that extend out allowing for a more stable stage.
I'm sure others will have some thought on this as well.

I have one and love it! They now make an X-Stage light which is lower to the ground, if your new to pole dancing I would go with that one. Here is a video of my on the stage. The pole has a bit of wiggle but that is normal because its not attached at the top.

We all go through this. I say don't worry about it, and the others have great suggestions. I know for me music makes a huge difference! Try working on things you don't normally focus on like floorwork or stretching for a while. Absents makes the heart grow fonder lol

AdministratorJune 9, 2011 at 6:20 pm in reply to: What exercises can I do to prepare for pole dancing??There are a lot of lessons here that can be done off the pole, stretching conditioning and most of the strength along with floorwork and even some transitions can be worked on without a pole. I start you off with strength training in the lessons anyway. Something like Handstands ect can be worked on by using a wall instead. The Pole Strength Routine could be done without a pole and is great for cardio and strength. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
