I also teach you to lead with the hips….. using an entry from the chair position will not give you as much stretch around the pole and you'll end up with your back touching the pole and slowing you down. But the chair can be a good starting point. I demonstrate both entries here. For those taking the lessons. https://stage.studioveena.com/lessons/view/15f92884-b909-11df-856f-001b214581be

Have you checked to make sure your keeping the chest lifted before you begin the move? Not only does this help you engaged the scapula, it will keep the pole off the back and on the upper trap. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

LOL I have to admit, I have bashed to poor kitty. I was messing around with elbowstands and was not thinking…..was not cool, not cool at all. "Sorry honey no sex tonight cuz I smashed my vajayjay on the pole!" https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

This was very fun! I like the "nice" feet best…but Chris likes the "naughty" feet video best. LOL

More of the local and smaller comps still use 50mm. I'm all for 45mm becoming standard, this is why we have 45mm set as the defalt size on our x pole order form. Its always best to work on as many sized and finishes as you can.

Working on new moves with heels on is a good way to injure yourself, always work on new moves in flats or bare feet. Good for you not giving in to wearing the heels and for requesting a mat!!! Swinging the legs to invert is a big no no https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif
As for which pole…if your looking to have fun and use pole for fitness ect then I suggest the chrome 45mm. But if you plan on working towards competing some day the standard right now is 50mm. I'm hoping we'll see a change to a standard of 45mm for comps though.

I teach as many pole moves as I can from the ground first. Including inverts. I feel its important to understand the end position completely before attempting to do a full invert. You should have an understanding of the POC" Points Of Contact, before you learn to invert. The knees should be up above the hands so you can grip the pole in between the insides of the knees. Also be sure your not using momentum as you invert, kicking and jumping can lead to injury. Always use a mat, I like to use couch cushins lol https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

@ Runemist..try to keep it just feet and legs, but its not iike you can be disqualified https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif. You could do floorwork but will have to adjust the cam so you can only show the feet and legs. Challenge yourself to show emotion through the legs https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cop.gif

This is what I would like to do for the Challenge https://stage.studioveena.com/videos/view/4dc05c8a-dba0-4577-ad4e-70970ac37250 I think it would be challenging to see if we could show emotion and be expressive just by recording our feet. This could be done with or without heels, whatever you like. What do you guys think?
