You can’t just rely on skin. For all of the armpit grips you should focus on pressing the gripping arm/armpit PAST the pole locking you into the hold. If your not pressing past the pole with the arm all of your body weight is pulling down on your armpit making it very difficult to hold!! So use those muscles contract the scapula and use the rear deltoids to pull the arm back and across the pole https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif

I know I posted this to your blog but I’ll add it here as well. I love to make stretching feel like a reward at the end of a day by taking a super hot bath, (to warm the muscles) then watch my favorite TV shows or do some reading https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_study.gif You could even take it one step farther and each time your done with stretching treat yourself to some chocolate (not a ton just on small piece) or something else you love, like wine! Soon you’ll start associating stretching with pleasant things https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

For beginners I tend to recommend the Xsport 45mm Chrome pole. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Welcome to the site! Unfortunately the Electra pole isn’t a very sturdy or safe pole https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif Its a "just for fun" to dance around kind of pole. X pole is totally worth the cost. Think of it this way….it’s a piece of exercise equipment so a good solid pole is worth it. Sometimes there are poles for sale here by owner so you could check that out as well here is a link to that section.

Working on the Negative (lowering yourself down into position) doing it super slow, is the only trick I know of other than building up your strength. I can’t lift into a TG either….but I can hold an Iron x. Also the taller you are the more difficult the lift into this is. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I still have not figured out the "trick" either https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif

AdministratorDecember 11, 2010 at 6:51 pm in reply to: Poling/stripping in front of people….stressed!I have done a few Amateur nights in the clubs it can be a lot of fun. Remember most clubs are not looking for amazing tricks. Floorwork is helpful to know and having a plan for a few "tease" moves if there is a spot for people to sit up close to the stage. Focus on trying to interact with the crowd, you have to get out of your own head and just focus on THEM. Move SLOWLY…nothing looks more awkward then someone trying to do sexy and dancing all jerky and quick! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif
Remember….MEN ARE SIMPLE…you could fall on your face and they wont care one bit as long as your gonna take something off! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
