I like to vary my workouts between…… Chest flies, Bench press with dumbbells or bar bell (its good to change it up) Decline bench press, Incline bench press, or I use different hand placements for push ups. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Oh and the Arnold Press (shoulder press) Is great for chest and shoulders! I avoid the pec deck, this machine can put some peoples shoulders at risk for injury. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif Don’t forget you can use Cable machines or fit bands for any of these.

I prefer to work on new moves at the end if I am only pole dancing that day, so I am fully warm. I just don’t dance to the point of exhaustion! My new favorite way…. I do a short free weight session then hit the new moves. The weight lifting wakes me up (I have to workout in the AM) blah https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif but I have noticed a big improvement in my quality of pole sessions if I do strength work before. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Its very important that you have a strong invert (the knees must come up past your hands when you invert) If you can not invert with control (no kicking or pulling up with your toes) yet wait. Also remember you don’t have to buy the 99 dollar lessons. I think the 20 or 35 dollar options are a great deal for those on a budget. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

haha don’t be sorry….it didn’t hurt, I was really low on the pole…I was just shocked it worked! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif I had been trying to do it with just the arm as well will no luck. I may have to revisit it sometime soon.

AdministratorOctober 25, 2010 at 1:34 am in reply to: Body position in cartwheel vs split grip ayeshaI like to have my body centered to the pole in a split grip from off the pole. In the Cartwheel mount I am off to the side of the pole. I don’t know if your taking the lessons here but here are the 2

To work on controlling your inverts try this lesson. http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5400" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; All of the various climbs in the lessons along with working on pole holds (try using different leg variations) they will increase your back strength. All of the shoulder strength lessons are Helpful as well because they focus on the scapula
