Not really its more a matter of the hands getting use to the new load your asking them to take on…it will get better. Also be sure your only poling every other day not every day. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

It is normal and will get better as you become stronger and lose the "death grip" hold. Here are some tips that may help.
Warm up the hands…sometime we only think of warming our bodies but we rely heavily on our hands!
Stretch the hands/forearms after your pole session… if your taking the online lessons here is the vid
http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/3222Work on strengthening the hands off the pole. Here is a lesson for that as well

Settling for the easiest option isn’t always best. I see "road blocks" as a sign that I should keep pursuing what I had planned…the reward is usually even better than I had expected. Don’t wait for your man if he can’t help…where there is a will there’s a way, you can make it happen!!!! Go for it https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

AdministratorJuly 20, 2010 at 1:33 pm in reply to: Floor Body Roll And Shoulder Mount QuestionFor the floor body roll, remember your really moving the spine ….try to only envision moving up the spine one vertebra at a time not the shoulders themselves. Its not going to be a huge movement at first but you should feel it move all the way up the spine to the neck. At the top of the movement your chest will be slightly off the floor, because your rounding the top portion of your upper spine. You can try it against the wall standing as well. It may help to remember to inhale during the beginning of the move and then exhale as you roll though the movement. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

If your taking the lessons here are the new vids for these moves
CAR http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/2426
CKR http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/2415
Its totally understandable to have a fear of lowering yourself back so don’t feel bad about that.
here are some tips for these moves
Work on your planks first, some find this helpful others find planks easier after learning CAR/CKR
find your Points of Contact from the floor first
be sure your pole and your body is very warm so you have maximum grip, this can make a HUGE difference (sounds like you are tho, if your skin feels like its ripping) https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif It will get better and thats normal!!!
try going into the move from a pole sit
Tip the legs up towards the ceiling FIRST then lower the upper body down
Go back slowly….walk your hands down the pole
You can do it good luck!! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I really think its wonderful the way all the members are so quick to help each other out. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif I don’t really mind having duplicate posts or someone asking where to find a thread….it just means its a well trafficked site with a lot of new users…which is great in my book. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif But yes the search bar does work really well if your looking for something specific. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif Its the members that have made this site a warm and friendly place for any level of poler xoxox Veeners https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

yes I have danced in a corset its not easy….it really limits your ability to invert and bend and even more important breath!!! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif I have however started off wearing one then took it off when I was ready to get down to the more difficult moves, it also gives you a chance to catch your breath while you take it off. If you go with the corset find one that only has a few hooks so it doesn’t take too long to undo it. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Depending on how they are made the higher shoes can be easier to dance in. It really depends on the brand though. If they have a nice wide base for the ball of the foot your good to go, but some of them get narrow or have a funny curve to the bottom where the ball of the foot goes and they feel really unstable no matter what height they are. Lots of times the higher the shoe the smaller the angle is of the foot making it feel more stable. The reality is though, the higher the shoe the farther your fall and more likely you’ll twist your ankle, so take it slow. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif
