as usual everyone had great suggestions. Here’s another. If your not yet strong enough to lower with control, you can work up to that by, inverting then holding the tuck position for as long as you can…don’t forget to breath!!

Sounds fascinating. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I have several x poles. And I love my 45mm Titanium gold the most! I have not yet had the finish wear off and I have use brass pole and the finish is very comparable. I gets VERY grippy when warm. My only problem was when we had high humidity, I seemed to grip and slip at the same time….but I think it was Sapphire, on here had a similar issue with her brass pole. I really love the TG if your looking for a pole that is great for advanced dancers, I feel new dancers would find the pole too grippy for static spins and wow, you can have some nasty pole burn on the TG! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

I should add that if your using an elbow grip, then you wont need as big of an arch if you can lean far enough away from the pole. You need some kind of counter balance so you do fall back into the pole, when the legs move forward. So either booty out or lean way far away.

Yeah, I get ya. So by keeping the back arched and booty out, and bringing the legs towards the pole and not out to the sides will flatten it all out. So as if you were to sit on the floor in a V straddle, but inverted. I’m terrible at typing things out, does that make sense? https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Welcome, a little more info on the lessons…I am up dating all the old (first addition) lessons and I’m adding brand new lessons every month. We have lessons for, a warm up, cool down, stretching, strength moves (using your pole) beginner, intermediate, advanced, and even some fun and silly lap dance lessons. I have a lot more I’ll be adding, but I’m keeping that a secret. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gif

I know I sure can’t perform a full flat center split to get that flat appearance. I fake it by keeping my back arched so my butt is sticking out. Then my legs move forward for the V position not straight off to the sides. Have you tried that? https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_nemo.gif

I gotta get off my computer, but wanna respond quick…first….Ooohh I didn’t know that about coconut oil!! Cool.
I agree with the protein after. DON’T DEPRIVE YOURSELF of food. Now, its a whole different ball game if your trying to get "cut" for body building, but this is pole, you have to have energy! Eat all kinds of fruit and veggie. Lean protein. Be sure you getting enough calories, whole grains can be your friend, despite what some say.
Don’t underestimate rest. I know a lot of people feel that they will fall behind if the take time off, but it can really be helpful. Your not gonna loose strength if you give yourself a 2 or 3 days off. If your worried about forgetting your routine or something, record it and watch it over and over.
Get a massage, to help loosen up any over tight muscles you may have!!! Drink a ton of water after!
Make sure your also getting enough GOOD sleep. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_smurf.gif

You have to keep telling yourself that you CAN do it. Picture yourself doing the moves your scared of, over and over, tell yourself you WILL do it you CAN do it. Use a nice thick mat!! The human body and mind is powerful and amazing! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_study.gif If your taking the lessons on here, watch the invert lesson over and over, tell yourself you can do that move. Or find a video on here of someone you admire and watch it. YOU CAN DO IT!!! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

This is sooo true, thanks for posting!!!! I know if I don’t drink enough water I can see it right away in my extra baby belly skin, it always looks much better when I’m hydrated. I love my water! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Thats sooo true Dayanara, good point! I was assuming she knew the position and was struggling because she couldn’t bend over far enough. Yes, the farther down the pole you can get your upper body (think: head to knee’s lower if you can) the easier it will be. This is why you need hamstring flexibility, then you can do a good forward fold. Also be sure your not on your spine, you need to be off to one side, on your trap (the slopping part of your neck) not off on the edge of your shoulder or right on the spine. Here is the lesson if your taking them

Sounds like a a lack of flexibility, probably in both the upper ( chest and shoulders) and lower body (hamstrings) You’ll get it! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
