The same could be said about the flat line scorpio, inverted thigh hold, superman…the list could go on, lots of move can be used to transition into another. A transition to me so something more simple in nature ( kicks, pole turns, slink ups) than a classified pole move.
I think its best to keep things simple, just because something is labeled as floorwork doesn’t mean it can’t be used as a transition. Floorwork is just the most explanatory category it fits into. Keep it simple. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I hold onto my leg with my arm on the other side of the pole (not in front but behind)….a little more difficult than the pose in the photo. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I personally call don’t call them "spins" if your using a spinning pole…I call them Holds, because the pole its self it moving and your really only "holding" the position as the pole moves you.
On a static (non spinning) pole I call any move where YOU rotate around the pole a spin. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/alien.gif

Ok I’m not good at typing out instruction…video is much better, but here goes….
Be sure your gripping the pole between BOTH legs.
Bend down so your upper body is moving towards your hooked/bent leg
Using the same side as the hooked leg…. bring the arm down below you to help stop yourself, keep the top arm in place until you feel secure in your bottom arm. You can speed this up once you know where your going.
MAINTAIN CONTACT WITH THE POLE BETWEEN BOTH LEGS AT ALL TIMES, until you have your shoulder dismount grip in position and you feel secure. The leg contact is the MOST important part at this point
The hand that was the top hand becomes your secure position for the Shoulder Dismount.
Quickly move the lower hand in to place so it becomes the top hand (for the dismount). MAINTAIN CONTACT WITH THE LEGS until the very last second!!
Make sure you stay tucked so you don’t bang your collarbone on the pole on your way down.
Do it slowly at first…then you can speed it up.
It really feels like your flipping down the pole https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
