I just received my hoopnotica hoop a few days ago, its the travel hoop. I have to say I prefer my homemade hoops. My hoopnotica hoop is warped and it huge!! LOL I know its easier to hoop with a larger size but this is BIG. It will be fun to take with though. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I ended up making two new hoops myself too.

The bottom loading X will have a cover for the bottom. X pole has a lot of cool things to come, but they don’t want us blabbing about it too much. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gif

A nice stretching routine is one of the next things on my to do list for the new lessons, for now if you have the lessons check out the cool down, that is where the stretching is for now!!! Great suggestion.

AdministratorJanuary 22, 2010 at 12:34 am in reply to: Caterpillar to butterfly, can’t seem to do itAre you trying to to the Basic Butterfly (using an elbow or forearm grip keeping your body close to the pole) or the Butterfly (using a split grip holding the body away from the pole)? Make sure you understand the proper positioning for the leg that is on the pole. If your leg is in the right position you wont need someone to hold your leg in place, just like in the caterpillar the leg should be pulling against the pole. The point of contact of the leg that is on the pole will be, behind the heel, along the inside of the knee. If you moving into the butterfly from a caterpillar there is no reason for you to be shifting anything around you will simply remove the opposite leg off the pole. Be sure that your hips are squared. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Thank you, ladies!

One other thing while were at it….your pain tolerance can be at its lowest when your menstruating so some moves may feel more painful on your skin! -
Ahh yes thank you Yoga! I have heard that before, I also have read that in India most women don’t practice yoga at all while they are on their "holiday" https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I cannot think of any medical reason why…(I’m not a dr duh) but when I spoke with my dr about inverting while pregnant he said there was no danger in it….still I stopped inverting by the 2nd trimester, which would be a good rule to follow for the advance dancer who becomes pregnant, and, beginners shouldn’t be inverting anyway. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif I’m guessing the no inverting "rule" given by yoga instructors is more like the wives tale telling you not to swim after eating. Your body is working harder when your menstruating (just like after you’ve eaten) so you need to listen and pay attention to YOUR body and if something is too tiring or doesn’t feel right then stop. If we really listen our bodies will let us in a some amazing secrets. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
