I am also a mommy of four. 3 boys 1 girl. I laughed watching your boys work on the spins! My 15month old was outside with me and went up to a pole and lifted his leg up and then squated down!! It was so funny cause everytime I work out he is in the basement with me. I guess all along he was picking up tips. Now when I work out he goes over to the support pole in the basement and copies me LOL!!! I have to take a vid.Haha great story!!
As for leg strength…it will come…, squats, pole sits, leg raises to name a few can all help. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Trust me its Bull ***** you can’t promise some will be able to do the splits in 3 weeks https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Every body is unique and a lot of things factor into flexibility. Genetics, tendons, age, if your active or sedentary…..an so on. Stretching daily is a good thing and if you do it AFTER your exercise you’ll get a deeper and safer stretch than if you try to stretch a cold muscle. I have been naturally pretty flexible all my life…so for me when I loose my flexibility I can get it back with in a week or two of good 15 to 30 min stretching sessions. BUT that is only me….its not average!! For others it could take months or years to be able to do the splits. Don’t be discouraged……The good news is…EVERYONE can become more flexible https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif …….with TIME… not overnight. Here is a vid I made a while back with a few stretches for the splits and some tips too. There are others you can do these are a few of my favs. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

edit….I do want to say that what the person says about focus is really important when doing anything body related…being in tune with your body is soooooo important and it WILL help a ton. I visualize pole moves all the time before I even do them, it works.

IF your hooking the leg that is on the pole behind your heel….you can pull yourself into the pole and grab the pole with both legs and go into a crucifix, this would be a bit more basic than going into the flatline scorpio https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

You can try going to a sign company and most will make a small piece like a pole dancers for pretty inexpensive. You can create your own or if you pay them they create it for you. We have done this in the past for other business’s we have had. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

If its only your grip and you have the position…. then try dampening the towel you use to wipe you pole with, using a bit of alcohol or what ever you clean your pole with. Rub it on your hands and the pole and as soon as its dry….don’t try it with wet hands!!!!! as soon as its dries, try the move. You’ll get better grip but only temporarily. Or try my silly dish washing rubber glove trick….they do stick really well https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Thanks for the suggestion https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif the pressure of the pole wouldn’t work with that kind of flooring….I already tried to convince the husband of that kind of flooring when we first moved in LOL He said nope, the carpet is just to thick, so its not stable enough to put flooring over. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif I have looked a many places and this house soooo close to perfect, just that damn carpet and boring location. I have danced on carpet since I started so I guess why stop now. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

why can’t you rip up the carpet??
Its not my house! LOL We rent. -
I would try the boots…I thought I had strong hamstrings too, until I started doing the star, and knee holds. That position is really unnatural, you’ll get it! Boots I say! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

I’m telling ya its all about the hamstrings (the back of the thigh) muscle. It contracts in the same basic manner as your arms bicep muscle….it can pull. On the pole work might include side climbs, the star (this one is great for preparing you for the knee hold) to name a few. For exercises off the pole….squats, walking lunges…if you focus on pressing off with your HEEL you will focus more on the glute/butt and hamstring area. Bridges are great too. I would also try a pair of high sticky boot, this can help you work on your strength without the PAIN https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif on your skin, you can then focus on holding the move and not the pain.
