Welcome!! Nice to have you with us. Yep its normal to have achyness when your new to pole. Make sure your taking a day off between pole days. Always warm up and leave the stretching for after your pole work out. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Ok I just watched your vid…..You have your inverting under control so that’s good! Sooo it hurts on the opposite side that you invert on?? right? Also when you say hurt do you mean sharp pain or dull or stiff and sore? Its hard to tell from the vid but, it looks like you MIGHT be lifting up into the move with your back sightly rounded forward and the shoulders are up…which would engaging your rhomboids heavily. So by not pulling your shoulder back and down first you can get that pain. Soooo try pressing the shoulders down and back first, then you can’t round your back and over stress your rhomboids. Always back and down hold it and them move into the invert. I hope that helps…..let me know if it doesn’t.
Take a break from inverts for a few days, then try out my advice, I love your dancing and want to see you feeling better https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Good Hamstring flexibility is needed for this move and like fleur said grab high up with that top arm or you’ll risk falling back towards the pole and smacking your head!

Now I wish I had a spot for my sewing machine https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I might have to make room for it some how!! I did see a DIY episode where this girl makes her own corsets. If I can find it I’ll let you know….from what I remember it wasn’t too tough. It was fit you your own body making it perfect.
