Titanium gold is a great option for cold weather poling. Chrome can work well too!! Titanium can be too grippy for new dancers who love to work on static spin, chrome is better for static spins, and the common "death grip" newer dancers experience. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

You don't have to use a pole, we've had members do a chair dance, hoop or even just floorwork. We are not too picky about it. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_harry.gif<–Wicked. lol

We use our hot tub all the time during the day. Even when its 100+! It feels nice after you’ve been swimming in a cool pool for a while. The temps have been pretty nice here and we have had rain often. I think it’s going to be in the 90s next week. Mornings and evening are perfect!!

I drank Carnation instant breakfast during all my pregnancies and even a few hours before delivery, my 3rd baby. Also used it the days after delivering my 3rd and 4th baby. Good stuff!https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Totally normal! You're creating friction so that area you hold gets warm. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I think the goal of a workshop should be to learn from a different instructor, we all have different methods of teaching so it's great to see things from a different point of view. I don't think dancers should knock themselves out trying to be "good" enough to take a workshop. Make sure you read the workshop description so you know if your in the right level. I would think whom ever is teaching the workshop should be able to come up with other possibilities if the first option presented isn't possible for someone. Please keep in mind too that not every trick is not right for everyone. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Hi Hagface! Having trouble with spins is very common for beginners so you're not alone!
There a number of conditioning lessons here that will help with grip and also the whole body, no pole needed. Most of the Pole Strength lessons can also be done with a door frame instead of a pole.https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
