Hmmm this discussion has given me an idea!!! I’m on the road (still moving) and will think it over before I decide if it’s worth sharing 🙂

I hadn't heard anyone refer to the static hold as a cradle before. I only thought of it as a spin!! LOL That's where my confusion came in.
So I have added the Cradle and Cradle V to the AKA for the Thigh Res and it's V variation, t is that correct?
Thigh rest (tuck) https://stage.studioveena.com/galleries/view/4f879cc8-cf20-458c-8b8f-40d70ac37250
Thigh rest (V) https://stage.studioveena.com/galleries/view/4f879cec-12a4-4ed5-98a2-40d70ac37250
It's not that confusing, Cradle, jamilla, thigh rest, anchor are all the same move….and all can have leg variations. Moving the legs into a V variation doesn't change anything but the legs.
Side V is different. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
Nice combos beaniegoesnuts!

Always stay with the static from standing variation first until you become very comfortable with it before moving on, that can mean doing it from standing for weeks!
Also I saw in your help video you have switched your arm and leg placement. In the lesson I use the same leg and arm to grip the pole not the opposite, this will make for an easier transition into butterflies. If you ahve any questions on any move please feel free to post a comment on the lesson and I'll get back to you asap. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

huh? I thought that's what you guys were saying that the side v has one leg in front and the other behind??
The thigh rest is a thigh rest, and you can do leg varations such as a V….the cradle is a not the same thing to me, it's a spin. The pole is placed a bit higher up by the hip bone for the cradle spin and the focus isn't to rest the pole on the thigh, but rather use the arms to hold you.

AdministratorJune 4, 2012 at 1:47 pm in reply to: Question about Veena Grip for shoulder mountFor the top half of the shoulder mount the Veena grip gives you the most security. This is the only grip I can use to create a true straight line for the super invert. If you switch the hand placement it's not the Veena grip, and it doesn't offer the same security when the extended arm is on the same side as the pole. With the arms switched the grip isn't bad for the joints so it IS "safe" if that's what your asking, but with my experiance it's not as secure. The balance is different with the hands switched.
To me this is a clean line. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gifhttps://stage.studioveena.com/galleries/view/4f8834cb-19e4-4b78-95e5-285c0ac37250

is it the pop corn kind of artex? If so I wouldn't put up a rubber mat, you'll probably end up loosing far more ceiling bits than only using the dome!

Are these grips what you're talking about Capfeb?
