I slip the most on chrome and Stainless steel, so for me to grip, BOTH the pole AND my skin/body has to be very warm.

Glittterhips, the pole is not a limited time thing.

Hi Jolenebell, Keep in mind that body weight on the scale can fluctuate anywhere from 2 to 5 pounds. I always tell clients to focus on how they feel (do you have more energy etc) and how their clothes fit, NOT the scale. Keep at the walking! https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I'm so happy to hear your thoughts on the pole Saphyre thank you for sharing!!
I had some pole burn the first time I used the pole too! lol I don't have trouble with it now though. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I had an amazing pole workout the other day with it, I was SO happy I could still grip the pole with my legs even when I took a break and cooled off! I always had issues gripping if I cooled off, but not anymore. I hoop for my warm ups so being able to have an open space for that, then putting the pole back up when I'm ready is so amazing to me.
Lyme, remember it's a good idea for performers to use grip aids so as long as you've got your favorite picked out for use on chrome, then you shouldn't have to worry about it too much. I'm kicking myself for not trying these pole earlier!!! I'm in love https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Yeah you can use whatever really but something with an ankle strap is a good idea! I sometimes dance in ballroom heels too!! They are nice and soft on the bottom so you can point the foot.https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I would suggest working on the Intermediate lessons that lead up to the basic invert. Remember, all lessons are placed in order so once you've finished the 30 days you should still try to follow the lesson order. After the 30 days you will probably be able to skip around the beginner section, but you'll want to start at the beginning of the Intermediate section. Even if you're not ready to invert take a look at some of the other Intermediate lessons because many are taught from the floor first or from the reverse handstand so you don't need to invert right away. Also things like Climbs will help you build strength for inverting. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Krista, you are correct with your definition for oversplit. I'm not sure why some use the term so loosely for things that are simply splits or variations. Placing the foot on a block when you do not yet have a full split is not an oversplit. I think some use the term oversplit whenever the leg is placed on something (block, arm, etc.) but it's not really the right terminology. But I agree, you must have a flat split, then from there, the front or back leg moves past 180. A true over split is going beyond a flat split both for middles and front splits. https://stage.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Sweating is something where grip aids are needed!! I’m so lucky I don’t have that issue!

I never used grip aids when I was first learning, I sometimes use them when I practice now but not often. They can sometimes make a mess of the pole and it ends up getting greasy. They come in REALLY handy for performing. The poles can be so cold and often, the room and your body isn't very warm either when performing, so I've learned to keep several types of grip aids in my bag.
